Program

The June 2025 IPEC Faculty Development Institute is a three-day virtual professional development event featuring experts in health professions education and healthcare.

The goal is to empower faculty and their collaborative partners to become champions of interprofessional education. By enhancing curricula, learning experiences, and learner assessments, participants will work together across health disciplines to integrate interprofessional education for collaborative practice (IPECP) into their programs. Upon returning to their institutions, they will be equipped to build faculty teams that can successfully implement IPECP projects and drive sustainable change.

Audience

  • Interprofessional faculty teams and their collaborative academic and/or practice partners committed to promoting IPECP
  • Individual educators and practitioners looking for tools and strategies to lead, develop, and implement IPECP

Goals

  1. Plan resources required to support IPECP and competency-based education (CBE) at your institution.
  2. Build competency-based practices in IPECP curriculum planning, design, and evaluation for local programs.
  3. Assess strategies for measuring IPECP effectiveness in achieving competency-based outcomes.
  4. Design effective learning experiences to enhance competency-based skills for successful IPECP.
  5. Communicate IPECP objectives, grounded in CBE, to decision-makers and stakeholders to secure support.

Structure

The agenda includes:

  • Theory burst presentations on IPECP content
  • Guided learning experiences and team-based planning activities
  • Expert speakers from across the country
  • Opportunities to discuss IPECP challenges and solutions
  • Dedicated time to explore embedding IPECP at your institution

Before the program, registrants must complete a pre-institute assessment survey. This will help orient speakers and planners to participants' goals and needs.
